Hanson Family | Family Pictures as an Anniversary Gift from Parents

This summer I was contacted by a woman wanting to purchase a gift certificate for her daughter and son-in-law for their anniversary so they could get family pictures done. It turns out that the gift certificate was for my neighbors! What a small world. We ended up having a beautiful fall evening for their short family fall session.

Annual Fall Family Photos with the Beula Family

September and October is the busy season for photographers. Families always make this time of year the time to do their annual family photos. It’s fun to see the same families fall after fall and see how big the kids have gotten. The Beula family is no exception. It was so much fun joking around with these two. Anne thought I was hilarious. Gordon…not so much. I’ll have wait another year and win him over next.

Family Maternity Photos with the Bichler Family

I’ve been photographing the Bichler family since 6 year old Brady was 1. It’s been so much fun to watch them grow over the years and I am beyond thrilled baby #3 will be here next month!

It may have been a cold and gloomy day when they made the trip down to Sun Prairie so I could photograph their family maternity pictures, but you wouldn’t guess it by all the laughs and love shared in these pictures.

I cannot wait to see them again for the newborn session next month.

Brothers together for fall portraits

I met this family over 4 years ago. It’s always fun to watch them interact together. Always the best behavior but always wanting to have fun, especially 4 year old Tanner. This year their mom only wanted photos of the boys since they change so much year to year. Since last year we did urban in downtown Sun Prairie, we did the exact opposite with a session at golden hour in the fall.

Family of four with six month old baby | Fall Family Portraits

I met Kristina and her lovely family out for their family portraits on the last day of September. We were pleasantly surprised when the early morning session was greeting with warm temperatures. It was fun to watch big brother Carter with his little brother. He was so sweet to him and didn’t mind the endless drool of a 6 month old.

Annual fall family pictures with the Klann Family

I always send my family tips before a session so they make the best out of their time with me. The tips range from what to wear, reminding everyone to remove cell phones from pockets and how the flow of the session will go. The biggest tip of all is to the the little stuff go with young children and have the time of their lives. The Klann Family has a 2 year old and a 4 year old. The last tip is key. I always love photographing the Klann Family because they always keep laughing even if things aren’t going according to plan.  So many fun family portraits were delivered in their gallery. Here are just a few of the more “classic” posed family photos delivered in their gallery.

Autumn Family Portraits in Sun Prairie | Family of four

Fall is always very busy for photography. The leaves are changing colors, temperatures are cooling down and everyone wants to get in family portraits. My fall scheduled started to fill up in the spring so before I knew it, I had no standard family sessions available. I only had openings for short session which are perfect for fall family pictures. These sessions are local in Sun Prairie and 25 minutes. For toddlers, this is the perfect amount of time. 1-3 year olds are always on the go and doing an hour of family pictures is not their idea of fun. At the end of the session, the parents get to select 15 photos to receive. It’s always fun to see which ones they select. Here are just a few of a recent short session I did. We met in the early hours on a Sunday morning. I love the light this time of day and more times than not, the kids are in super happy moods too because they aren’t exhausted from all of the days activities.
