Little 9 day old Lyla came into the studio with her soon-to-be 2 year old big brother. It was fun to meet this family of four and capture this time special time for them.
Newborn session are becoming more and more common in the studio these days and I’m loving. It’s truly the specialty area of photography that I love. There is something special about being with parents (be it brand new or experienced), hearing their story and being able to capture moments of their family with their tiny baby that makes my heart sing. I also love the challenge a newborn baby brings and the amount of patience it takes to get each pose perfect. My style is simple and classic. Yes, adding a little color is needed for some setups and having a baby snuggle with a tiny stuffed animal is the perfect pair.
This session with 8 day old Kaylee was a dream. She was sleepy and comfy the entire time and we were able to get the perfect gallery for her mom and dad.
It was fun to see 2 year old Jack with his brand new little brother during this family newborn session. From the get-go he was ready to hold and protect him. I couldn’t get over how much they looked alike.
I met the Temby family 2 years ago when I photographed their first daughter’s newborn portraits. I was so excited to get contacted by Christine’s sister this past winter. She wanted to purchase a newborn session as a Christmas gift for her sister. Best idea, ever!
Miss McKinlee joined the family this summer and is the sweetest. Her big sister is so proud and such a great little helper. I’m so glad we got to catch up and see this family again.
Mom had one request for this short newborn session: Have some pictures with her daughter’s feet showing since casts will be put on in the very near future to start the process of correcting clubfoot. Miss Amaya love being wrapped up and made me work for it, but we got it!
Short newborn sessions are always my favorite session. It’s the perfect length to get some beautiful portraits of baby with only a small time commitment from the parents. When my sister’s BFF from high school contacted me a couple months ago to ask if I could get her in for a short newborn session I was excited. Their drive to Sun Prairie from Deerfield was just long enough that their sweet Juniper fell asleep in the car and just kept continuing to sleep through the hour session. I loved her beautiful dark (somewhat wild) hair and she looked stunning in the purple and gray.
Sweet 13 day old Ashlynn joined me in the Sun Prairie studio for a short newborn session. I always love short newborn sessions. It gives the parents time to sit back and relax while they watch their newborn baby get photographed for 1 hour in the studio. They end up with 2-4 different setups which is perfect for announcement photos and to have a couple of their favorites printed and hung up in their home and nursery.
I styled Ashlynn’s session for a classic and simplistic baby girl. I love the soft colors and had to include a pop of color with a quilt that I used as the background while she slept in the tiny wood crib, hugging a stuff bunny.
Crazy to think I just saw the Bichler family just two weeks ago for their family maternity session. Baby Lainee came just 6 days later. Newborn photography is so special since these little babies are this tiny for such a short amount of time. In a blink of on eye they will be walking and talking. Big brother and sister were super sweet with their new sister. Family snuggles on the couch are always fun in the studio. And Lainee slept like a dream so we were able to get a good variety of setups too. I can’t decide which one is my favorite. She looked adorable in everything we did.
Miss Kenzley was just 8 days old when she came into the studio to have her first baby pictures. It was fun chatting with her mom and dad while I was taking these adorable pictures of their baby girl.
Little newborn Teagan was less than 2 weeks old when she joined me in the studio for her baby pictures. She was born to wear purple, just like her almost 3 year old big sister. I also loved the simplicity of her sleeping between poses so of course I had to capture that in black and white.
