Madeline joined me in the studio just shy of 2 weeks old. She surprised her parents with an early arrival and is the cutest little 5 1/2 lb newborn baby girl. We did lots of soft pinks during her session and since we were just a couple weeks before Valentine days I decided to do a couple cute heart set-ups for this rainbow baby.
Lori is my dear friend and I had the pleasure to photograph her second baby girl’s newborn session. We had her maternity session earlier than typical because we weren’t really sure when the baby would arrive. No one guessed their rainbow baby would wait till well after her due date to become the New Year’s baby!
Vivian came into the studio at just 6 days old and was super sweet. I think the best part of the session is always when we include siblings. Connie is not yet 3 years old so the task in itself was somewhat challenging but definitely worth it. She was so snuggley with her tiny sister. I also love that she insisted on also holding the tiny bunny when they cuddled since it is one she was photographed with during her newborn session.
“A “rainbow baby” is a baby that is born following a miscarriage, stillbirth, neonatal death or infant loss. In the real world, a beautiful and bright rainbow follows a storm and gives hope of things getting better. The rainbow is more appreciated having just experienced the storm in comparison.”
Maternity sessions are always special. Rainbow baby maternity sessions for close friends is more than special. It’s one of those sessions where you are so excited for them that it feels like your heart is going to burst with love and excitement. This family of three was meant to be a family of four. I am so excited for Lori and Cody but even more excited for soon-to-be big sister Connie.
It was a beautiful early fall day when we met for their family maternity session. Going to their farm in Bear Valley is always a good time and a beautiful setting with so much variety. Thank you Lori and Cody for inviting my family out to your place for the day and I can not wait to meet your baby in a couple months.
