I had the pleasure of photographing 8 day old Soraya in the studio. This was the 3rd newborn session I did for her momma. Little sweet Soraya was so sweet for her short newborn session. My favorite setup was with the pink hammock but her snuggling with the tiny felt bunny came in a close second.
Little baby Nash came into the studio for short newborn session at just 6 days old. His parents opted to do a short newborn session which meant we just focused on Nash and didn’t do any pictures with the parents. It was perfect for them so they could sit back and relax and still get beautiful pictures of their baby to cherish forever.
Nash’s mom asked for natural and clean set-ups for him. These are always my favorite. We started with bright white tucked in poses and then went to a couple set-ups to wrap him up when he woke up. His little smirk while in the little hammock was perfect timing.
Jude came into the studio for his newborn session at just 2 weeks old. His mom requested a low-key, relaxed session which is perfect for the short newborn sessions. No need for the parents to do anything besides sit back and just look at their adorable little baby. Jude’s beyond cute in every set-up but I must say that he loved snuggling with the tiny little bear. Maybe that is a sign for his Chicago Bear loving dad that he’ll follow in his footsteps 😉
Little Paxton came into the studio with his mom for a short newborn session. This session is 60-90 minutes in the studio and is just of baby. It’s perfect for families that want to capture images of their tiny new edition but aren’t interested in including the full family or siblings at that time. It’s a super laid back session and a fun time for me to chat with parents while they sit back on the couch and relax while I work with their baby. Little Paxton’s session went perfectly and I think I hit the nail on the head when his mom told me they like dark shade and to include grey and blue.
I’m glad we did their maternity session when we did, because just days later Little Daijon was so excited to meet his mom and dad that he arrived 6+ weeks early.
After his little extended stay in the NICU, I finally got to meet him at 2 months old.
I met Noah and Kathy just over a year ago for their fall family pictures session. I was so excited when Kathy contacted me to setup their family newborn session for her baby girl. Miss Annabelle was so precious all wrapped in pink. Big brother Jack was loving his new little sister.
It was a beautiful snowy Christmas Eve when Rebecca and Marc came into the studio for Landon’s newborn portraits. He was the perfect little guy with a full head of hair and cute cubby cheeks. My favorite poses was when we did him in the baby hammock and also with his parents. Of course we had to do a Christmas theme since it was December 24th.
One special part of being a newborn photographer is getting to spend an afternoon with new parents. It’s always fun to chat during the session and hear their story. Every couple is so different but the one thing that is always the same is the love they have for their new baby. Many times new parents are still getting their barrings with being a parent at the newborn session but the parents always work together so perfectly to make sure all goes well during the newborn session.
Quintin joined me in the studio at 8 days old. Since he’s a December baby, we had to do a little Christmas setup. I think him in the hammock is my favorite though. He looks so peaceful and comfy.
Crazy to think I just saw the Bichler family just two weeks ago for their family maternity session. Baby Lainee came just 6 days later. Newborn photography is so special since these little babies are this tiny for such a short amount of time. In a blink of on eye they will be walking and talking. Big brother and sister were super sweet with their new sister. Family snuggles on the couch are always fun in the studio. And Lainee slept like a dream so we were able to get a good variety of setups too. I can’t decide which one is my favorite. She looked adorable in everything we did.
Miss Kenzley was just 8 days old when she came into the studio to have her first baby pictures. It was fun chatting with her mom and dad while I was taking these adorable pictures of their baby girl.
