It’s always a good time to head out to Lone Rock, WI and catch up with my friends Lori and Cody during their annual family portraits. I think we’ve been doing this for 9 years and have only had 1 or 2 years of great weather. This year was light rain and overcast but we didn’t let that stop us. We first took pictures around their little slice of heaven on Bear Vale Farm. This year was extra special because they took me to their new hemp field. What a sight to see…and smell! All of Cody’s hard work is really coming together with this year’s harvest. It’s very exciting to see it all come together.
I’m so glad fall stuck around just long enough to get the Kuhns family in for their family short session. It was a little cool that afternoon but considering it is now one week later and snowing, it would have been worse. Big sister Brienna had a good time showing her sister around.
I originally was planning to meet the Shefchik family for their annual family pictures tomorrow but I was watching the forecast and decided it was looking a little too iffy for this weekend and asked them if they could meet me out earlier in the week. We lucked out and ended up having a fairly warm fall evening for their short session. Yes, it was overcast, but the fall calls still popped through every picture. By the end of their session it was getting pretty dark and I am in love with the moodiness of the pictures.
I’ve been photographing the Schultz family for 6 years. It’s great to catch up with them every year during their annual fall family pictures. This time they brought their family dog which made it extra special.
It’s been a year since I’ve seen the Borkowski family. I’m so glad we had to reschedule this session due to weather this past weekend. We ended up having the perfect fall evening. The air was a little crisp but I kept these boys moving during their short family session.
Every year I donate a family session to my kid’s elementary school as a prize for kids that raise money for their annual “Rocket Run” fundraiser. This year the Pearson family won and due to a cancellation in my schedule, I was able to get them in so they could get in a fall family session.
This summer I was contacted by a woman wanting to purchase a gift certificate for her daughter and son-in-law for their anniversary so they could get family pictures done. It turns out that the gift certificate was for my neighbors! What a small world. We ended up having a beautiful fall evening for their short family fall session.
It was fun to meet the Hager family out for their annual family portrait session. It was a cool and overcast evening this fall but at least we didn’t have rain.
This fall in Wisconsin sure has been a rough one. It went from unimaginable amount of mosquitoes to raining non-stop. Thank goodness the Reader family trusted me when I told them we should keep our schedule session time even though it was raining most the day. The trees are just starting to turn here in Sun Prairie and we ended up having a fun…wet feet…evening at the park. Little 2 year old Evie wasn’t always sure about the chill in the air, but held it together for so many fun family shots. I think she was thankful that my family sessions in the fall are only 30-minutes.
It was fun to see 2 year old Jack with his brand new little brother during this family newborn session. From the get-go he was ready to hold and protect him. I couldn’t get over how much they looked alike.
