Autumn Family Portraits in Sun Prairie | Family of four

Fall is always very busy for photography. The leaves are changing colors, temperatures are cooling down and everyone wants to get in family portraits. My fall scheduled started to fill up in the spring so before I knew it, I had no standard family sessions available. I only had openings for short session which are perfect for fall family pictures. These sessions are local in Sun Prairie and 25 minutes. For toddlers, this is the perfect amount of time. 1-3 year olds are always on the go and doing an hour of family pictures is not their idea of fun. At the end of the session, the parents get to select 15 photos to receive. It’s always fun to see which ones they select. Here are just a few of a recent short session I did. We met in the early hours on a Sunday morning. I love the light this time of day and more times than not, the kids are in super happy moods too because they aren’t exhausted from all of the days activities.

Gordon is 1 Year Old | Milestone Pictures | Big Sister is Turning 3 years old | annual fall family pictures

I had this milestone session scheduled for months with Amy. I knew we would be taking a risk scheduling an outdoor session in November but getting in Gordon’s 1 year and Anne’s 3 year old pictures were going to happen. Thankfully it was beautiful for their morning family session. I can’t believe how big Anne is getting. I still remember the first time I met her when she was just a few months old. She was not a fan of me and all my loud, silly noises. I’ve learned to tone down my noise level when around her but this time she was asking to squeak my toys and she loved every part of it. Thank you to Amy and Phil who continue to make the trip to see me. I know driving 90 minutes one way from the Fox Valley isn’t the easiest at time, but it’s always great to see you and your fantastic kids!

Annual Fall Family Pictures | DeForest WI | Golden Hour with 2 Year Old

It’s always humbling when a family drives hours for one of my sessions. The Bichler family has been making the trip down from Appleton for 3 years and I love when it’s time for their annual family pictures. Big brother Brady was on his best behavior through the evening session. 2 year old Norah was the typically 2 year old…cute, always on the go and sometimes challenging 🙂

Annual Family Pictures | Brothers | Fall in DeForest Wi

I met Erica two years ago when her oldest son started kindergarten and our kids were at the same bus stop. Last year, bus stop chatting lead to their first RMP session. Another year had gone by before more bus stop chatting lead to us realizing we are from the same small town of Seymour and she actually graduated high school with my sister. How that had not come up before, I have no idea, but it’s such a small world and I laugh every time I think of it that we ended up living just three blocks away from each other.

As always, her boys were on their best behavior and were so much fun during their short session with me. It was a beautiful fall evening when we met up in DeForest.

Annual Fall Family Pictures | Hineline Family | Token Creek at Golden Hour | Madison WI

I’ve been taking the Hineline annual family pictures for the past 5 years. I swear, they always have the best luck with weather which is sometimes tricky selecting mid-October session dates. This year we met at Token Creek for a quick Friday evening session. Golden hour never disappoints and it was a beautiful (and fun) evening. We even ended the night with a dance-off between the boys. I’m still not sure who won.
