It was a treat to have this family of six in the studio for Hunter’s newborn session. His older sisters (ages 2, 4, 6) were such good helpers with him and loved to give him baby snuggles. They are all huge Harry Potter fans so of course we had to do a Harry Potter set-up. The full gallery had a wonderful mix of full family, siblings, just mom and dad with new baby, Hunter by himself in the themed set-ups as well as timeless and classic white.
Little baby Nash came into the studio for short newborn session at just 6 days old. His parents opted to do a short newborn session which meant we just focused on Nash and didn’t do any pictures with the parents. It was perfect for them so they could sit back and relax and still get beautiful pictures of their baby to cherish forever.
Nash’s mom asked for natural and clean set-ups for him. These are always my favorite. We started with bright white tucked in poses and then went to a couple set-ups to wrap him up when he woke up. His little smirk while in the little hammock was perfect timing.
Madeline joined me in the studio just shy of 2 weeks old. She surprised her parents with an early arrival and is the cutest little 5 1/2 lb newborn baby girl. We did lots of soft pinks during her session and since we were just a couple weeks before Valentine days I decided to do a couple cute heart set-ups for this rainbow baby.
11 day old Violet is probably the smallest newborn I’ve photographed. She was born a month early, but don’t let her size fool you. She’s one strong and healthy baby girl. Her mom and dad from DeForest are just smitten over her, and I don’t blame them one bit.
It was hard to narrow down my favorites from Sawyer’s newborn studio session. We did so many simplistic and classic baby poses that will be timeless for mom and dad for years to come. I also think he was the smiliest baby I’ve had to date.
Sweet 13 day old Ashlynn joined me in the Sun Prairie studio for a short newborn session. I always love short newborn sessions. It gives the parents time to sit back and relax while they watch their newborn baby get photographed for 1 hour in the studio. They end up with 2-4 different setups which is perfect for announcement photos and to have a couple of their favorites printed and hung up in their home and nursery.
I styled Ashlynn’s session for a classic and simplistic baby girl. I love the soft colors and had to include a pop of color with a quilt that I used as the background while she slept in the tiny wood crib, hugging a stuff bunny.
Baby Jacob joined me in the studio for his short newborn session at just four days old. Before the session, his mom mentioned she wanted his photos to have a “soft, simple look.” These are by far my favorite type of sessions and is always the style I go for. I think we hit the nail on the head with this one. I love that he even flashed me a quick smile when he was all wrapped up in white.
I had a wonderful session with Meredith & Trent. I met their baby girl in the studio in Sun Prairie. She was perfect for her timeless and classic styled session but my favorite setup was when we used a pink and white blanket her late great grandmother had made for her.
Newborn sessions are always my favorite. It’s always so special to see first time parents when they come in with their new baby. Newborn sessions with a family that already have children are also just as special but I must say it’s the way the siblings act towards their new baby that really excites me. This 2 year old big brother was the sweetest to his baby sister. Seeing the parents with their “babies” never gets old.
