It’s always a good time to head out to Lone Rock, WI and catch up with my friends Lori and Cody during their annual family portraits. I think we’ve been doing this for 9 years and have only had 1 or 2 years of great weather. This year was light rain and overcast but we didn’t let that stop us. We first took pictures around their little slice of heaven on Bear Vale Farm. This year was extra special because they took me to their new hemp field. What a sight to see…and smell! All of Cody’s hard work is really coming together with this year’s harvest. It’s very exciting to see it all come together.
This family just keeps getting cuter and cuter. I remember the first time I met Jack two years ago for their fall family pictures. He was the sweetest 3 year old there was. Now he’s 5 years old and the best big brother to little Annabelle.
We had so much fun during their 30 minute session. My favorite part was when the kids were getting pulled on the quilt and Jack asked if his little sister could be removed from the quilt because he thought it would be more fun without worry about holding onto her 🙂
It’s always fun to meet up with the Cushman family. Little Bronsyn is turning into quite the little young man and had me laughing the entire short session. We did plenty of posed family pictures during their quick 30-minute session, but the candid family ones are by far my favorite.
This summer I was contacted by a woman wanting to purchase a gift certificate for her daughter and son-in-law for their anniversary so they could get family pictures done. It turns out that the gift certificate was for my neighbors! What a small world. We ended up having a beautiful fall evening for their short family fall session.
I’ve been photographing the Beula family since 4 year old Anne was juts 3 months old. It’s great that they are willing to make the hour and a half drive down to Sun Prairie for their annual family pictures. This year we tried something a little different from last year and did an urban family session in downtown Sun Prairie. It was so much fun and (as always) we had lots and lots of laughs together.
The Ruben Family have been RMP VIPs since the start of RMP. I remember Sarah was the first person to hire me that I never met before. I was soooo nervous the first time I met them. Fast forward 7 years and here we are….two “big kids” with their parents.
The Blankenhagen family had their family portrait session scheduled in the studio before the tragic explosion that occurred on July 10 in downtown Sun Prairie. My studio is one block away and was in the hot zone for a few days so we weren’t sure when we would be able to get into the studio for their session. Luckily my studio didn’t have any damage so we didn’t have to hold out too long. The session was originally scheduled for just studio, but after everything that took place I insisted on doing some photos in my favorite place in Sun Prairie…the alleyway next to my studio. It’s the perfect place to hop out of the studio and take a few urban photos and also have time to get into the studio for more classic images.
Thank you to Bekka and Dan for going along with my plan to do a little of both so we could get out and have a little fun in downtown Sun Prairie.
I spent the beautiful summer evening trying to keep up with 18 month old Chase during his milestone session. It was a short family session so only lasted 30 minutes, but he had me moving the entire time…and thought it was hilarious. I’m so glad his mom was gifted this session from a family friend for Christmas and I was able to meet them 6 months later. Family pictures—what a great present!
We had a crazy May with weather. It was wet. And when it wasn’t wet, it was crazy cold or crazy hot. We ended up having to reschedule the Hubred’s family pictures two times but finally had the perfect evening for their family session.
We met at a local park during golden hour (which this time of year is around 7 p.m.). We fought off mosquitoes the entire time but seeing their full gallery you would never have guessed it. The entire family were champs with ignoring the little pests and just having fun with their family during the session.
It was great to get some siblings pictures with Collin and Rylee, but I think my favorite pictures are of mom and dad. I’m sure it’s rare that they get pictures of just the two of them and I’m glad we made time to do them.
We had a beautiful spring evening for the Bergeson family portraits.
