2 year old Fiona came into the studio with her new baby brother. Tiny Owen was the sweetest baby during his newborn session and Fiona was the best big sister to him. The new family of four loved to snuggle and it was adorable to see mama with her two babies.
It’s been a year since I’ve seen these two boys. (Here’s Asa’s 1 year milestone session.) It was fun to have 2 year old Asa and 3 year old Israel back in the studio. Israel is really turning into quite the little model and ham in front of the camera. Of course I needed to get a couple action shots of these boys so we had a jumping contest at the end.
It’s been a year since I’ve seen the Dvorsky family and little John Paul is turning into quite the little man. I quickly learned this 2 year old’s favorite thing to say is “Ready. Set. GO!” As with all toddlers, he had us all on the move for the entire session.
This fall in Wisconsin sure has been a rough one. It went from unimaginable amount of mosquitoes to raining non-stop. Thank goodness the Reader family trusted me when I told them we should keep our schedule session time even though it was raining most the day. The trees are just starting to turn here in Sun Prairie and we ended up having a fun…wet feet…evening at the park. Little 2 year old Evie wasn’t always sure about the chill in the air, but held it together for so many fun family shots. I think she was thankful that my family sessions in the fall are only 30-minutes.
I’ve been photographing the Beula family since 4 year old Anne was juts 3 months old. It’s great that they are willing to make the hour and a half drive down to Sun Prairie for their annual family pictures. This year we tried something a little different from last year and did an urban family session in downtown Sun Prairie. It was so much fun and (as always) we had lots and lots of laughs together.
So glad we were able to squeeze in a super quick milestone session with Abraham tonight before he gets his first hair cut tomorrow.
Family sessions with a 2 year old are always on the go. This is the age when the toddlers can move fast and when they have their mind set on something, there isn’t much you can do to change it. So this is why many of my family sessions including a 2 year old are a lot more active and candid. Jack’s session is the perfect session. I think we stopped moving for 30 seconds throughout the entire 30 minute short session. It was a fun session and now mom will have images to remember this active time in her son’s life.
The Blankenhagen family had their family portrait session scheduled in the studio before the tragic explosion that occurred on July 10 in downtown Sun Prairie. My studio is one block away and was in the hot zone for a few days so we weren’t sure when we would be able to get into the studio for their session. Luckily my studio didn’t have any damage so we didn’t have to hold out too long. The session was originally scheduled for just studio, but after everything that took place I insisted on doing some photos in my favorite place in Sun Prairie…the alleyway next to my studio. It’s the perfect place to hop out of the studio and take a few urban photos and also have time to get into the studio for more classic images.
Thank you to Bekka and Dan for going along with my plan to do a little of both so we could get out and have a little fun in downtown Sun Prairie.
It was a pleasure meeting Katie and her family of four (soon-to-be 5) for their family maternity session. The skies were overcast but we didn’t let that spoil our fun. I’m not going to lie, doing a family maternity session with a 1 year old, 2 year old AND family dog was no easy task but the Lewitzke family was so laid back and just wanting to have fun that it worked out perfectly. We were able to get some great posed family maternity pictures and the gallery also has several fantastic outtakes (like that last one) that shows real life and are too much fun not to include in the gallery.
2 year old Piper joined her 6 month old brother in the studio for his milestone session. These two are too cute. Cole was all serious for most of the session but we managed to squeeze out a few smiles at the end. Young siblings in the studio are so much fun.
