Madeline joined me in the studio just shy of 2 weeks old. She surprised her parents with an early arrival and is the cutest little 5 1/2 lb newborn baby girl. We did lots of soft pinks during her session and since we were just a couple weeks before Valentine days I decided to do a couple cute heart set-ups for this rainbow baby.
Little 9 day old Lyla came into the studio with her soon-to-be 2 year old big brother. It was fun to meet this family of four and capture this time special time for them.
11 day old Violet is probably the smallest newborn I’ve photographed. She was born a month early, but don’t let her size fool you. She’s one strong and healthy baby girl. Her mom and dad from DeForest are just smitten over her, and I don’t blame them one bit.
Jude came into the studio for his newborn session at just 2 weeks old. His mom requested a low-key, relaxed session which is perfect for the short newborn sessions. No need for the parents to do anything besides sit back and just look at their adorable little baby. Jude’s beyond cute in every set-up but I must say that he loved snuggling with the tiny little bear. Maybe that is a sign for his Chicago Bear loving dad that he’ll follow in his footsteps 😉
Little Paxton came into the studio with his mom for a short newborn session. This session is 60-90 minutes in the studio and is just of baby. It’s perfect for families that want to capture images of their tiny new edition but aren’t interested in including the full family or siblings at that time. It’s a super laid back session and a fun time for me to chat with parents while they sit back on the couch and relax while I work with their baby. Little Paxton’s session went perfectly and I think I hit the nail on the head when his mom told me they like dark shade and to include grey and blue.
It’s always a pleasure working with new families. This family contacted me when they still lived across the country but they knew they would be living in Madison when their second baby arrived and wanted to make sure they had things lined up once they settled in. 3 year old Redmond was so much fun to have in the studio and he was such a proud big brother of little Collum.
It feels like just yesterday that I had 2 year old Finley in the studio for her newborn session. But now she’s a big sister and introduced me to her baby brother Duncan. They were both a dream to have in the studio and it’s fun to see their family grow from three to four.
Soon-to-be two year old Everly introduced me to her newborn baby sister Maren during their newborn + sibling session at the studio. At first Everly was sky and wanted nothing to do with her sister but eventually she came around and gave her sister some lovin.
Newborn session are becoming more and more common in the studio these days and I’m loving. It’s truly the specialty area of photography that I love. There is something special about being with parents (be it brand new or experienced), hearing their story and being able to capture moments of their family with their tiny baby that makes my heart sing. I also love the challenge a newborn baby brings and the amount of patience it takes to get each pose perfect. My style is simple and classic. Yes, adding a little color is needed for some setups and having a baby snuggle with a tiny stuffed animal is the perfect pair.
This session with 8 day old Kaylee was a dream. She was sleepy and comfy the entire time and we were able to get the perfect gallery for her mom and dad.
Maxwell joined me in the studio for his newborn session at 13 days old. He is the carbon copy of his dad.
