Sweet 7 day old Vivian came into the studio with her parents for her family newborn session.
Every summer these snowbird grandparents come up to visit their granddaughters for a couple weeks in Sun Prairie. They’ve made it a tradition to get family portraits done while they are here. There’s a special bond between grandparents and grandchildren that I love to capture. These two girls adore their grandparents and loved to laugh with them.
It was a beautiful spring evening when I met Carrie and Jesse out for their maternity session. We lucked out with weather. All day it was a heavy overcast and then right as their session began the sun broke through the close and we had a beautiful golden hour. I can’t wait to meet their little man next month.
I haven’t seen Madelynn since she was 4 months old and I did a fall family session with her family. It was fun that she came into the Sun Prairie studio for her first birthday milestone. Her mom went all out with the great decorations for her Minnie Mouse theme. So cute! This girl was not a fan of getting messy and preferred to eat the cake with a spoon!
I had the pleasure of photographing little Jaxon in the studio for his newborn session. He arrived a little early so I made sure to give mom and dad enough time at home with him before they came into the studio. I met him at 25 days old and he was the perfect little nugget to photograph.
It feels like just yesterday that Amy and Mark brought Ethan into the studio for his newborn session. We just celebrated his first birthday milestone session in the studio with a cake. He was all smiles until we brought out that cake. He was less than impressed with the cake but we still managed to get some super cute pictures of him.
It seems like every year Mother’s Day sneaks up on us, especially for husbands and children. We get so excited for the spring weather that April flies by and “surprise!”…. Mother’s Day is here and you find yourself with no gift. Forget about it being thoughtful, at that point you are in survival mode and go for the nearest thing you can find (and if you are in my house, this means the Amazon Wish List).
Spoil the women in your life with a thoughtful gift while supporting small businesses in Sun Prairie. Planning ahead is nice but not always realistic. Since everything listed is in Sun Prairie, I promise all of these gift ideas will beat your 2-day Amazon Prime package arrival.
This list is a combination of gifts you can wrap and give her on Mother’s Day, eat/drink together, and/or enjoy at a later date with a gift certificate. Pick one. Select a couple. Or go all in with the full list (we all know she deserves it). Whatever you choose, it’s sure to put a smile on her face and make her feel extra loved this year.

It was a treat to have this family of six in the studio for Hunter’s newborn session. His older sisters (ages 2, 4, 6) were such good helpers with him and loved to give him baby snuggles. They are all huge Harry Potter fans so of course we had to do a Harry Potter set-up. The full gallery had a wonderful mix of full family, siblings, just mom and dad with new baby, Hunter by himself in the themed set-ups as well as timeless and classic white.
Little baby Dylan came into the studio with his mom at just 6 days old. The theme for his nursery is superhero so of course we had to include a Batman setup with a little outfit mom brought in.
Last Fall I met Heather and Ross to take some anniversary pictures including their two fur babies. The anniversary session turned into a pregnancy announcement session! I couldn’t wait to see them again this spring. Little Marshall arrived three weeks early but he was ready to be here. 10 days after he arrived he was in the studio for his newborn session. As always, I have so many favorites from his session but I think the ones of him with a quilt his great grandmother made for him nears the top.
