Piper | 10 day old newborn in studio with parents

Newborn sessions with first time parents are always a favorite for me. The connection and love a new mom and dad have with their little one is so strong and sweet to witness. Michelle and Tyler are head over heels in love with little Piper. At 10 days old, she was as sweet as could be in the studio. Since she arrive days before Christmas, we had to do one quick Christmas theme set-up for her.

Cole is ONE! Celebrate with a smash cake and end with a SPLASH!

Cole joined me in the studio for his 1 year old milestone session with a smash cake. His mom went all out with decorations and ended up dropping them off ahead of time so I had plenty of time to setup before they arrived. This worked out well since Cole is on the GO! He’s fast and would have quickly lost interest if I made him wait to set up the background. His favorite part was the SPLASH at the end.

Royal Oaks Rocket Run Winner | Family of Four Studio Portraits

Every year I donate a session or two to the Royal Oaks Rocket Run which is their annual school fundraiser. When the kids ask for sponsors to support them running laps for 20 minutes. They get a chance to win a prize and I find that offering a family session is the least I can do for the school. It’s fun to get to meet the families that win the prize but this time I already knew Will and his family. It turned out they are my neighbors! It was too much fun to get them in the studio for a family session. We even snuck out in the cold and got a few in the alleyway next to the studio.

Brynnley’s Pearls, Pink, and Polka Dot Smash Cake Session

Brynnley’s mom wanted both outdoor fall family pictures and a smash cake session for Brynnley so we ended up meeting up twice within 10 days. Even though they had to drive up to Sun Prairie from Edgerton each time, it was worth it. Both sessions went perfectly and it didn’t push this 1 year old too far for either session. I think if we tried to do both in one day that it would have been too much for her and the smash cake wouldn’t have gone nearly as perfect as it did.

I loved her pearls and polka dots. She matched her cake perfectly and was a pro with it. I always start the smash cake session with parents on the side and tell them that they are on deck for when the baby pushes the cake away but Brynnley did the exact opposite and pulled it towards herself. She was a pro! She loved her cake but loved the “splash” part of the session even more when she got a bubble bath to clean up at the end.
