For the second year running, Rachel Manzke Photography made the best maternity photographers in the Madison area list on Expertise.com. It’s an honor to be listed with such talented photographers in my area and I’m thrilled I could be listed as one of the Sun Prairie Photographers on the list of best maternity photographers in Madison for 2018!
Baby Grayson joined me in the studio for a newborn family session with his brothers and moms. The pictures speak for themselves….this little guy is beyond loved.
Short newborn sessions are always my favorite session. It’s the perfect length to get some beautiful portraits of baby with only a small time commitment from the parents. When my sister’s BFF from high school contacted me a couple months ago to ask if I could get her in for a short newborn session I was excited. Their drive to Sun Prairie from Deerfield was just long enough that their sweet Juniper fell asleep in the car and just kept continuing to sleep through the hour session. I loved her beautiful dark (somewhat wild) hair and she looked stunning in the purple and gray.
It may have been bitterly cold out in Sun Prairie the day I took Cardin’s newborn portraits, but you wouldn’t know it when we were all in the super warm and cozy studio. Not only were we celebrating the birth of Cardin, but it was also big brother’s 4th birthday the day of the session. It was super sweet to see the two boys together. Big brother really watched out for Cardin.
It was a beautiful snowy Christmas Eve when Rebecca and Marc came into the studio for Landon’s newborn portraits. He was the perfect little guy with a full head of hair and cute cubby cheeks. My favorite poses was when we did him in the baby hammock and also with his parents. Of course we had to do a Christmas theme since it was December 24th.
Bodhi joined me in the Sun Prairie studio for his milestone session. He recently turned one year old. His mom warned me that he was quick and she was right. He was always on the go until we put his cake in front of him for his smash cake session. That got his attention and he loved it. It was fun to end the session with a splash in the bath tub. He loved it!
11 day old Joash joined me in the studio for a short newborn session. I loved the feel and style of the session. Mom asked for simple, classic and neutral. He was so sweet and loved cuddling with the tiny brown bear.
Sweet 13 day old Ashlynn joined me in the Sun Prairie studio for a short newborn session. I always love short newborn sessions. It gives the parents time to sit back and relax while they watch their newborn baby get photographed for 1 hour in the studio. They end up with 2-4 different setups which is perfect for announcement photos and to have a couple of their favorites printed and hung up in their home and nursery.
I styled Ashlynn’s session for a classic and simplistic baby girl. I love the soft colors and had to include a pop of color with a quilt that I used as the background while she slept in the tiny wood crib, hugging a stuff bunny.
It feels like just yesterday that Emma was in the Sun Prairie studio for her newborn session. She came in for her first birthday milestone session. We started with family photos and ended the session with a smash cake and a quick splash. Her sweet smile was too cute.
One special part of being a newborn photographer is getting to spend an afternoon with new parents. It’s always fun to chat during the session and hear their story. Every couple is so different but the one thing that is always the same is the love they have for their new baby. Many times new parents are still getting their barrings with being a parent at the newborn session but the parents always work together so perfectly to make sure all goes well during the newborn session.
Quintin joined me in the studio at 8 days old. Since he’s a December baby, we had to do a little Christmas setup. I think him in the hammock is my favorite though. He looks so peaceful and comfy.
