This spring, I was asked by Jamie Adcock, owner of Running Diva Mom here in Sun Prairie, if I would be interested to collaborate with other local businesses for a “mom makeover.” I jumped at the chance and didn’t hesitate to offer to take her before pictures and have an after photo shoot at the studio and downtown Sun Prairie.
Karine worked with a team of local health and wellness professionals for a total transformation opportunity! This lucky mom spent the last three months working on her overall wellness through various fitness sessions, personal training opportunities and chiropractic services.
Karine’s dedication to her program and sessions, resulted in more than eleven pounds lost (17.6 pounds of fat) and improved her body composition by a whopping 7.1%. Congratulations Karine on all of your hard work and dedication. You are doing amazing things and are so beautiful inside and out!
Karine participated in my spring 10K running group for women and was very dedicated to the twelve program. She showed up for early morning workouts every Saturday morning and overcame a busy schedule and physical challenges. On Memorial Day weekend, Karine crossed the finish line beautifully at the Twilight 10K in downtown Madison.
Check out some of my favorite photos from the “after” photoshoot we did last week. The best part was Karine brought her daughter who just finished her first year at UW-Oshkosh. What a fun way for these ladies to have an evening out!
Sun Prairie Mom Makeover closing interview with Karine
What was your biggest accomplishment with your 10k training?
“Finishing the Twilight 10K. I loved the route and definitely ran my own pace.”
What was most difficult about the Twilight 10K race? Any struggles?
“Due to many things being in bloom, my breathing became very labored with about 2.5 miles to go. I just slowed things down and walked more.”
What one tip would you give someone that wants to jump start their weightloss?
“Get support (you aren’t in it alone). Everyone has different reasons for losing weight and therefore, different motivators. Know your reasons, find your motivators and then let people in on it. They will better support you when they know what you are after and why.”
What’s next for you?
“My journey is far from over for weight loss. I will continue learning from my support team and paying attention to what works and what doesn’t. This is a total lifestyle makeover and that doesn’t happen overnight. I have also challenged myself to a half marathon this year. That means consistent training, good eating and continued self care (regular chiropractor visits and journaling). Thank you to you and the whole team.”
